Participate in already established charities

 

and outreach efforts in your community.

 

Some feel “why reinvent the wheel?” If there is an ethical, efficient charity or organization who already have a great plan in place, why not consider bringing it to your community?  An example of local outreach efforts include a Secret Santa program in one county I worked in which allowed our team to adopt a family for the holidays by providing gifts for the children. Another time we assisted a church providing basic necessities and school supplies to United Nations refugees who had resettled in America.

Advantages:

Disadvantages:

• Some loss of control, depending on the organization
• Players may not have direct contact with the organization or the people they are assisting
